Like anything, your AC unit, if kept outdoors, can be negatively impacted by heat from the sun, and can actually overheat, causing issues for your home. In order to keep this from happening, consider planting shrubbery or shady trees near or around your unit to keep it cool and shaded and prevent it from overheating. Just like parking your car under a shady tree will keep you more comfortable, keeping your AC unit cool will make sure everyone in your home is happy.
